You knew this was coming. I knew this was coming. There is not another thing in the world that intrigues me more, not a thing I think about more or daydream about. It keeps me restless at night, I toss and turn marveling at its wonders, about this precious feeling every person is born inside with. That burning flame inside each and every one of us. Some might have it dim and fading, while others could have it burning in flames. Nonetheless, it exists; it is there, inside every human being.
I am in love with every detail. A simple kiss, an interlocking of fingers, the warm of our bodies together, it all just seems so magical. Falling asleep to her voice at night, knowing you will wake up next to her. Sharing every moment together, becoming one, no longer be two separate bodies but rather one being. How moving, how fascinating. I am just one crazy boy with way too much time to think on my hands.
Just why this is such a big deal is unknown to me. I like to think I was born this way, ever since I was a little boy I loved and felt. I had my first crush at such a young age and she was everything to me, it was no kid's love, it was an absolute love obsession. This was at eleven years of age, and since then not many of my thoughts about this mysterious emotion we call "love" has changed. I just recently found some of my own writings as a little boy and now more than ever can I relate to them, I find amazing how I still think the same. I am a romantic I suppose, always have, always will be.
I always thought that men were supposed to be just that, romantic. I believe that it should be something natural of us, to be gentle and caring of women. To be a protector, knights in shining armor, and to express or love unconditionally and well developed. However, this has completely changed. That flame inside most males has burned out; it has instead been replaced by incontrollable lust. We have become dogs. Where is the love? Why has it disappeared this way? It is now considered old school, out of style. But I am here to tell you otherwise. It is for the brave and simple minded, for the strong and willing, for REAL men. Do not be discouraged for being different, because different is better, we must be the light and salt of this world, do not let your flame die.
Love. Love like no other, show your love and embrace it. Don't hide it, don't put it away, put it high above where everyone can see it. Don't let age wear you down, let it be the reason for more love to come. The older you get, the more you love, don't be ashamed of this wonderful feeling. Love her, show it to her and she will thank you. It might seem other otherwise but there ARE good men and women out there, each waiting for their right opposites. Their prince charming or Cinderella, do not doubt that they exist, they just took a wrong turn and are having trouble finding directions, but they are THERE. Waiting for you like you wait for them, the torture and pain is mutual, and I assure you; one day it will all be worth it. All your pain and suffering, all your worries and misshapes, one day you will be glad you have waited. Even if you have made mistakes, it is not too late, you can still wait, you can still change your future.
This was originally just supposed to be my definition of love, a simple definition, but it never seems to be that way, I rambled about everything on my mind. Granted, this is no simple matter, it is so complicated we might never fully comprehend the mysteries of it, it is as wide and spacious as the universe itself. Also, why use my own definition when it has already been given to us, the complete utterly definition of love:
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (New King James Version)
"4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails."
So what is love? God IS love.
"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
Love is this.
